I started out with a Canon Elan II, but got rid of it very fast (too flimsy). I then got (see how my greed and stupidity got me) the excellent Canon A2E, equipped with a Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8-4.0 Aspherical lens. I loved the camera, but was not very fond of the lens. The Sigma was too bulky, and zoomed in all by itself whenever the camera was held up. It had pretty bad contrast, and the colors were abominable. Although the A2E was great, there was no symbiosis between us, so I traded with my Dad, who (naturally) quickly replaced the Sigma with a Canon zoom from the L series (that I still cannot afford). There are some things that are on my perennial wish list, like an Arca Swiss ballhead (yeah, keep dreaming). It would also be nice to get the vertical grip for the camera, but it's way too expensive. Maybe later...
