Nachthymnen, From the Twilight Kingdom (1995, Napalm)
Extremely atmospheric black metal with occasional female vocals which sound as the
wind fleeting over the raw drums and screaming guitars. With plenty of keyboards
to enrich the sound, this is probably the band's best release to date. The excellent
album cover sets the mood and the photo on the CD itself is pretty good too. Although
not "mainstream" like Dimmu Borgir (in other words, this is a bit demanding of the
listener), it boasts competent musicianship and a pretty good production. Recommended.
