She made a name for herself with her role opposite Cheng Pei-pei in The Lady Hermit and became one of the leading wuxia actresses. Her stunning looks, impressive agility, and girlish impetuousness combined with stern maturity have made her a favorite of mine ever since I glimpsed her in the bit role in The Jade Tiger. She can also play non-violent roles but she just does not cut it as the submissive wife.
