Films: People: Nakadai Tatsuya (Japan)
| Discovered by Kobayashi Masaki by accident in the 1950s, Nakadai became one of the foremost leading men in Japanese cinema. His performances for directors like Kurosawa, Ozu, and Okamoto have earned him a well-deserved place in the pantheon along Mifune Toshiro and Shimura Takashi. He is intense, perhaps too intense for many viewers, and his tendency to portray tormented and slanted toward evil characters have made him the perennial "other side". His is an accomplished actor and superb villain. |
