Films: People: Joey Wang (Taiwan)
| There's some confusion about the proper English transliteration of the name of this exquisite Taiwanese actress born in 1967. From what I gather with my zero-knowledge of Chinese, Wang is how they pronounce the name in Taiwan, so that's why I use it here. One can see her referred to as Wong (IMDB, for example) too. Perhaps the most charming actress ever, Joey became famous for her role as the ghost in the trilogy A CHINESE GHOST STORY. She retired in the early 1990s after some scandal involving her love affair with a married man (who can blame him?) but she may have returned to the screen again with the 2001 PEONY PAVILION. I am keeping my fingers crossed. |
