Films: People: Chow Yun-Fat (Hong Kong)
| Doubtless among my favorite Chinese actors, Chow eerily resembles a former roommate of mine (whom I liked too). He's been in everything from silly comedies, to serious dramas, and silly-serious action flicks. He's very charming (at least that's what my wife tells me) and he's super cool when he wants to be. The only other actor that I can think of who has such versatility is my all-time favorite Mifune Toshiro. Even though Chow does not approach the intensity of that guy, he is so smooth (as in debonair) that he more than compensates for it. Unfortunately, Chow has recently taken to star in lots of dull Hollywood flicks. Let's hope that he picks good roles here too. |
